11:41 am - The rules :)
|
1 The FEMALE always makes the rules. 2 The RULES are subject to change at any time without prior notification…by the FEMALE. 3 No MALE can possibly know all the RULES. 4 If the FEMALE suspects the MALE knows all the RULES, she must immediately change some or all of them. 5 The FEMALE is never wrong. 6 If the FEMALE is wrong, it is due to a misunderstanding which was a direct result of something the MALE did or said wrong. 2:05 pm - Today.....
|
I have been on the phone ALL morning to a lady from the RCN (she rang me back too ). She is the first person who has ever taken the time to sort stuff out for me and gotten somewhere!
She finally managed to get me some info from WING (helps injured nurses re locate, enable to continue with support etc) and is sending that out. Plus she organised for me to meet my RCN local branch officer (who deals with the legal, social and legislation) so I can get ALL the info and OPTIONS before I see the Occy health people.
I have postponed todays appointment on their advice, but feel a lot (ok a tad) more positive about work as she was so much more understanding and treated me as a person and a VALUED one at that!
My head is whirring..I called the drs to change my phone number on their files and so asked for the wheelchair assessment centre’s number so I could inform them. I did so and asked how long the wait is..She said I will be seen 1st week in July, I explained the hired chair I have is heavy etc and my situation so he will ring me before then if a slot comes up..
Off to MIL’s anyways this afternoon, if I can drive…..Lil man still hasn’t seen his slide!
trying to hold off taking Tramadol as worried it will make me drowsy and want to drive later…Urghh!! so HURTING LIKE HELL!!!
Kids are hyperactive and lil man is gong through a ‘throwing toys’ stage, just makes me want to throw him! lol. Currently playing with Spiderman Lil lady is playing with the toy farm, did you know that pigs don’t oink, they making a blowing noie? lol, that is what it sounds like when she does it!
Ohh whilst I am talking about the bubs, lil man put a RAISIN UP his NOSE!! I jest and kid you not! What is it with lil ones and orrifices? He once tried to shove cheese in his ear canals! Lil Lady was watching too, so maybe she will do this trick later! Tahnkfully, lil man is pretty good at blowing his nose so I *Think* we got it all out….EWWWwww.
Lil Lady did have her own lil blip today though..she poured the dregs of my pepsi max over the sofa..THANK GOODNESS for leather, and that I was thirsty so there wasn’t mush left!
oh well, must have been bad in a past life….truly I must
Til later,

5:38 pm - grabbing a bite to eat and shoes
|
Took the bubs out to that golden arched place or reported food again today. Not that I like it, but they do actually eat whilst we are there and I reckon it is pretty important to take em places where the public are/eat so they know how to behave (my bubs that is, not the public, but MANY of them could have done with some direction I fear lol). I think it works as we get compliments all the time.
As always it was a bit of a logistical (sp?) nightmare, mainly due to the fact I am having a bad day today hip/sp wise (always do after working the day before). So EVERYONE seems to get in my way and expect ME to move for them..URGH. It is hideous enough with the buggy and buggy board, and their occupants, without my leg and crutch to boot...(which may i add spends most of its time attached to the buggy!..the crutch that is not my leg lol)
Mind you today did have one small consolation. The bloke in the fore-mentioned 'eatery' did offer to bring my tray over, VERY rare for that to happen..Usually even if you ask them they are hard pushed to oblige! He was very good though and even asked if I needed napkins and milk, or did I prefer to get them myself. I like that type of offer, where you are not railroaded into what they want, merely asked.
After being here we went to ASDA. I really HAD to get lil lady some shoes. She has clarks, but overnight (I am NOT kidding!) her feet grew! I had to resort to putting her lil man's old shoes in her apparent new size on as she was not able to get her fat lil foot in hers. Kinda cool that they have the same width fitting :) BUT I could imagine my MIL exclaiming and reeling in horror at her being in Boys shoes!..plus they have seen betterdays as lil man was only just walking at her age so they are pretty scuffed.
Anyhoo...Just wanted to get something cheap but functional til I can get her to Clarks. Fridays seem to be included in the 'mare rush at such shops (maybe the weekly paid go out in droves??) so I just couldn't face Clarks today....All the shoes in ASDA are pretty and cute even but not functional at all, unless I want her to go over on her ankles and have bunions by the time she is 2 lol..So I opted for safe and wide trainers, cute but clodhoppers!!
Anyway was musing to myself in the queue for the checkout (I always seem to pick the till that will have a fault etc on a bad leg day ..and a fussing bub moment!) ....and I KNOW why my hip is still Bollox'd..yup, i figured it out...
MIL told me last week.
I had gone around to show off lil lady's new (and now totally useless) sandals and put them on the table after showing MIL. She was HORRIFIED and informed me that I will have seven years bad luck...HOLY CRAP, ....THAT is why I am shafted...Have been doing such crappy acts all my life!!
just made me giggle :) not because it is in any way humourous, but because it sums my MIL up. She is lovely and well meaning and great, but she has her views alright!
For instance, last night she was here with the bubs whilst Husband Blokie came to meet me. When We got back she was re-telling a tale of a visit to an unfortunate soul in prison. Apparently, another prisoner, a "pervert" by her account, was going to see his brief..Who was dressed in a belt for a skirt...She felt this was asking for trouble....
Husband blokie had a field day with that whilst I laughed my arse off...
In other news..Take away night tonight :)

10:32 pm - what a cr@ppy day
|
well, I think that the title gives the moan which is going to follow away! Sorry..did aim to be "jolly and bright" but I can't thinkof anything like that right now as I had a cruddy afternoon.
Managed to get to before mentioned 'food' establishment, which in itself was a crazy feat! Picture this, me, hobbling and leaning of trusty crutch, whilst also attached to lil man (son) by wrist strap on that side..(no nothing kinky, just a more grown up rein)..and lil madam (daughter) "walking" on other side. Normally isn't *that* much of an issue...she normally walks at a slow pace, which is fine for my dodgy hip and we get to the car fine..BUT MIL left her reins at her house yesterday, whoch meant that to be safe I had lil madam's hood of her cardy in my free hand and she was NOT impressed.
Indeed, she wanted to sit down on the filthy cruddy pavement and pick up blossom petals, whilst lil man wanted to find his sunglasses (which were back in the house!) URGH!!
Eventually got to said place, ate..but not before struggling with my tray! I DID ask for help to carry it, blinking well bad enough having a buggy never mind the buggy board, inhabitents and a crutch and dodgy leg to contend with..But seems half wits were out in droves today...everywhere I turned they seemed to make life difficult, be it by getting in the way or just existing! I sooo wanted tomow half of em down........
Got back home (not before lil man had a meltdown..that is an entirely diff story) and feel like I have been kicked in the pelvis and hip..so not a happy bnny, limping and feeling crudy..
but to top my wonderful day off, what should happen..........????
Thats right, bl00dy door fell of the tumble dryer :(((((((((((..and no it didn't get the mouse..
Only good thing is that husband bloke has sorted out a hinge online (heres hoping it fits as they don't actually do our model anymore! errrrrGHHHH) and I just had a take away.......
ok, going now..so rant over I spose ;)
til next time

12:01 pm - Well it seems like I am online!
|
Wow, great news as i am not very good at following instructions when it comes to pooters (as husband bloke will agree!)
I am really in a quandary..eww the decisions! blue background or not? ;) Will play about and see what seems to be more 'user' friendly.
Had a kind of strange morning. Was woken by a VERY happy and VERY awake (16 months old today) girl. She wanted up, and I ...eh..didn't! Her bro was sleeping soundly too. I tried to bribe her with the UHT milkshake we have taken up to save my crap legs and husband blokes sleep) ..Didn't work..mind you it IS radioactive I am sure! Never noticed til today, but when you pour it away down the sink it is luminous! I half expected the sink to scream in pain or the metal bubble under its wrath!
Anyway...I digress! Both kiddies got up pretty sharpish and I did too, well in body ..I am sure my brain and consciousness was lingering upstairs for a couple of hours! Thank goodness for breakfast bars and toy cars which have this far amused them today!
Off to the 'golden arches' food (term used loosely) establishment of burger-idge for a treat for the bubs in a bit. Always feel guilty when I work the evening before and they are in bed when I get home, so like to compensate I guess! Should be interesting trying to keep upright with my dodgy hip, buggy, buggy board and crutch too..hey ho, should be a strategic exercise if nothing else and willmake me feel justified for my wine later..
Can use one of two excuses..1. Need it to calm my frazzled tired and sick of people -getting- in -my- way nerves, or 2, for pain relief..well ok, that is crap, I mean I just like wine.
Oh and work was certainly interesting yesterday...I may has well have had a neon sign on my head saying "look crip nurse"......at least I am going to be able to eat as muh chocolate and drink as much wine as i need as the crutch takes all glare away from me :)
til later
